Something weird has happened to the wine selection, and we were served wine in dirty - literally unwashed - glasses last time ("why does this Brouilly have such a strange aroma of...sprite...?")

Instead I think you should check out l'Ebauche when they re-open in August as a wine/tapas bar. It was a great restaurant, with an interesting and frequently changing wine list, so it should work out well in its new guise too. (Last week we drank Clos de l'Elu and Susucaru, but they usually have quite a lot of nice Beaujolais from Dutraive, Lapalu etc alongside gamays from elsewhere)Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10053120500677216551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2174461443579168085.post-30534868808885088252017-06-20T09:33:36.098+02:002017-06-20T09:33:36.098+02:00It was supposed to last until the end of May, but ...It was supposed to last until the end of May, but is extended now until Sept. 2nd. (not Vaisse...)

There seem to be natural wine joints opening in Lyon every other day these days, so they are catching up. A recent one is Odessa Comptoir in Rue Leynaud - had another odd viognier there recently (from Laurent Fell/Ardèche). And the wine in the temporary bar in the top of the opera comes from Ô Vin d'Anges.

(And in shameless self promo, you should find something good to eat in Lyon on my blog (https://lyonloveletters.wordpress.com/), although there isn't much traditional Lyonnais food there so far).Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10053120500677216551noreply@blogger.com
